New Year's Eve?! NOW??!!!

Yup! It's New Year's Eve now. I've realised that I have been slacking and half-dead for the last 5 days.

Today is back to my busy schedule again. And tonite, still drawing lots to see the possibilities of going for watchnite service or rather enjoy the new year's eve with my family (I mean my extended family - mum's side).

I hope my laptop is done soon after yesterday I sent it for repairs after a blue screen appears.

No compositions and arrangements are to be written to day due to the boredom encountered since I woke up. I feel so energetic, yet restless. Maybe I'd play a bit of MAPLE STORY for a change today. Can't really wait for long till Hello Kitty Online's Open Beta is open.

Too many things I have encountered during the year which interests me and here is the TOP 25 list (not in hierarchy form, too lazy to change to that) : -

1) During a nuclear explosion, u can hide in a refrigerator for safety (source:latest Indiana Jones movie).

2) Karaokes are not only mean to be in buildings by also in vehicles. For example, the Cheras Pasar Malam has this feature since the 10th December 2008(my last trip to the Cheras Pasar Malam, for the year), which was called GreenBox, part of the RedBox Karaoke Company.

3) Had a really good laugh this year since the elections of both countries, US and Malaysia. Thx to everybody who made everyone laughs. LOL!

4) "It looks something like me. It sounds something like me. He's fat and ugly. So it's not me." sounds like one of Malaysia's favourite caption of the year. My suggestion here is "What if it feels something like me. Or it taste something like me..........................." .

5) "Senior Moment" : One of DUMC's favourite phrase to depict memory lapse among anyone, like senior people(in some cases).

6) One way of escaping camp in XYZ (Xtraordinary Youth Zone), "GOT EXAMS!!!!!" .

7) The difference between Friendster and Facebook : The privacy in which people take advantage of you.

8) The similarity of the above : Elections seems hot in both worlds. PKR also set up a profile on Friendster.

9) Opposition party won the election but later strings of significant (& non-significant) events take place in the country.

10) Meanwhile in Thailand, I noticed that everytime when there is a new leader elected, the irony is that there will still always be a riot. The problem with this country is that they are never satisfied with what they have. Better still no Thailand, means no riot at all. "Land of Smiles". More like "Land of Riot".

11) Come to think of it, I've played in 4 orchestras 6 concerts, up to date.

12) Then, attended a competition for composition, as the 2nd youngest contestant.

13) Followed by becoming UCSI's 1st classical composition student.

14) Then written a number of works. 2 deemed as one the ultimate, and among the half abandoned, the Tsunami Elegy.

15) Come to think of it again, I've downloaded lots of video and music from YouTube this year.

16) And pictures too.

17) And buy lots of A-Cash too. With a goodie : Pirate job from Maple Story Mousepad.

18) Met several new people this year, I think hundreds of them.

19) Joined a club in UCSI that wants to do the 1st Bunkasai in Malaysia (plausible).

20) Read to many mangas online and downloaded them too.

21) Downloaded too many torrent flies too.

22) Borrowed and photocopied too many (large works for orchestra) classical scores which some can't be downloaded due to copyright issues, from the campus's library. So as downloaded whichever that can be downloaded from the internet.

23) On Friendster, too many replies till got to summarise into one on the bulletin. Now, still same problem.

24) Now, I own some programs and softwares that even my lecturers never even heard of.

25) Last and finally, (sigh) among my peers, I have the most advanced but cheapest synthesizer in the world and is none other than the Yamaha MM6.

Time for me to take a shower and Hope for thy PALING (Very) BEST during the NEW YEAR 2009 and a months later, CHINESE NEW YEAR 2009 too. ^_^

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!! (to those who read this blog or started or etc......................)

An Elegy? Sounds more like an allergy.

I've finally sketch out the full draft of my composition for cello and piano that took me nearly 4 years to complete. But sadly, the format of the sketch is in piano solo instrumentation. So, I have to say that it is only 50% complete.

I called this new work of mine "Elegy". Some people who are sarcastic would say "HUH?! A WHAT??!!! An allergy??!!! Why would you write something for cello and piano. So Evil! EEEVVVVVIIIILLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!! (Evil Overtones)". I suggested that it is a composition like a memorium-style work. Or like something to remind us of those who has join the crowd of the invisibles.

Simply, I called it that way because I want to write it in memory of those who perished in the tusnami disaster of 26th DECEMBER 2004. And that work was played in my mind the moment I see saw the news on TV. Funny part is, I dun even know that it happened because I was on the other side of the peninsular on a holiday trip.

I was amazed that God didn't allow my dad to book our holidays west of the Peninsular of Malaysia until he realised the reasons of why he was prevented by God from bringing the family for holiday by booking a hotel there. I was grateful that God even prevented another church member whom I met few months before during a chucrh SOL(School of Leadership) lvl 1 course. He too was about to bring his family to the same destination as my family nearly headed to.

One thing for sure about this work I can say is it took me a long time to figure out the following aspects :

1) Time signature
2) Motives and ideas
3) Style
4) Subtitles and dedication titles
5) The worse of all : PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT

Now I finally agreed to giving a simple one instead of a more complex one.

The work may not be perform officially until next year (the latest I can guarantee).

If anyone reading this is interested to know how it sounds like, I would suggest you to drop me a mail so that I can keep you updated and informed of the performances for that particular work. If all goes well, maybe I allow it to be downloaded for free ("Dream on!!!!!" says the blogger to himself).

Suppose to contain bad luck to most who believe such superstition . But nothing bad ever happen to me somehow. Anyway, it seem it is one of my luckiest days and hottest days. In fact, today it didn't rain at all. So i guessed tomorrow will be the one of the worse and most stormy days then.

OIL PRICE RISE TODAY!!!

Because of oil price rise today, 3 major disasters were observed by yesterday.

1. Rain heavily cause flash floods all over Klang Valley.

at the same time with.............................

2. People last minute pumping petrol because the oil price is expected to soar as high as RM 2.70, in other words, increase in Rm 0.80.

which cause................................

3. THE WORST TRAFFIC JAM EVER KNOWN IN HISTORY TO MALAYSIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Conclusion : To non-Malaysians who are reading this, you are lucky that this is not happening in your country or else it will produce devastating results, far beyond what Malaysia had.

The accident that should never have occured

6 hours back, about 6.30pm, I was cycling to the petrol kiosk because of a flat tire. I saw a car stop by the road near where I last stop before crossing a main road. The driver came out of the car and look under his car. I knew one thing for sure : he hit an innocent kitten in a hit and run style accident.

Funnily to him, even though he failed to avoid the kitten, he assumed that the kitten escape. I heard several "MEOW"s of the cat. When I look from the opposite side of the road, I could see the cat stuck underneath the car, struggling to get out whilst stuck with half it's body inside while the other half outside.

The details followed, the upper half, which is the hind legs, was stuck underneath the car. While the 2 front legs and the head is visible. The cat was struggling but it's 2 legs (front) were off reach from the ground.

The amazing thing is that the car driver failed to see that the cat was struggling because he saw at the wrong angle while I see the cat from another perspective, while both of us can agree with 1 thing : the cat meowing away (for help).

The driver felt he was wasting his time. As he was about the drove his car away, I signal to him with 1 finger pointing up (the 2nd finger), to call up for attention. Then i point that finger under his car. He shuddered off and drive his car away. I gave chased but failed because of the flat tire. I watched helplessly as the cat was dragged mercilessly on and off the road. It clearly gave me a traumatic experience for the following 3 hours after every time I hear a cat meowing.

I pray that the guy understood and heed my warning that the cat was underneath or else he will both have a hard time removing the dead cat and dead smell from his car. So the moral from this incident is that a cat is a living thing. It does not have 9 lives (that was just an old expression), It has only 1 life that we humans too have. So, we should not harm living creatures as if God will replenish every time we kill one.
